Dow Water & Process Solutions (DW&PS), a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW), has been named China’s top membrane component and module brand in the 2011-2012 User Satisfaction Award – Water Industry Equipment Category.

The award was presented during the 2012 (6th) Water Technology Forum, and is based on DW&PS winning the highest level of user satisfaction among all the 140 nominated enterprises and well-known brands in China, according to a recent customer survey.

Since the award was launched by China Water (www.h2o-china.com) in 2006, DW&PS has received the honor for seven consecutive years, highlighting the fact that general users in China’s water industry recognize the Dow brand, its quality and service, and the company’s long-term dedication to the pursuit of "remarkable quality, customer first."

As one of the most respected and influential technology forums in the water industry in China, the 2012 (6th) Water Technology Forum was held in Beijing on July 6th. More than 500 representatives from around 70 companies attended the award ceremony held during the forum.

Based on the principle of promoting the healthy and sustainable development of China’s water industry, China Water – a comprehensive information platform focusing on water-related environmental issues in China – launched a user satisfaction survey for brands of water-industry equipment based on users’ experience of 14 different types of water equipment. This survey targets nationwide wastewater treatment plants, waterworks, industrial water supply and wastewater treatment companies, engineering companies and other water-equipment users.

Dow’s reverse osmosis membranes, ultrafiltration membranes, IntegraPac™ Ultrafiltration Skids and other membrane products ranked first among all the 140 nominated top brands, in the recent survey, underscoring the fact that Dow’s products are most valued by customers.

"As the global separation and purification technology leader, Dow is extremely honored to win this award," said Dr. Wang Xiaolan, Asia Pacific Commercial Director, Dow Water & Process Solutions. "We would like to express our gratitude to the customers of Dow for their support and recognition, and we promise to continue to improve the quality of our products and services.

"We will evaluate the feedback provided by the customers of Dow’s products and services and look at them as an opportunity to understand our customer’s needs and expectations. This will give us a better view of how to improve our membrane products and services, and thereby to best meet the demand of users."

During the same award ceremony, Dow was also awarded the number one brand of ‘2011-2012 User Satisfaction Award in the category of Water Industry Equipment Brands" for reagents, the second year for Dow to receive the award. According to the report on the Customer Satisfaction Survey of Water Industry Equipment, reagents in the water treatment industry include flocculants, inhibitors, scale inhibitors, antiseptics, dispersants, cleaning agents, pretreatment filming agents, defoamers, decolorizing agents, chelating agents, oxygen scavengers, ion exchange resins and others.

The 2012 (6th) Water Technology Forum was organized by China Water, Tsinghua University and the Water Industry Branch of the China Civil Engineering Society, and was strongly supported by the International Water Association, the State Environmental Protection Engineering Centre for Technology Management and Evaluation, the Office for Major Science and Technology Programs for Water Pollution Control and Treatment, the Beijing General Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute, the Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. and the World Bank Group. Since China Water introduced the Customer Satisfaction Survey of Water Industry Equipment in 2006, the survey has become an important benchmark for government, owners, investment companies, engineering companies and operational units in their purchase of water treatment equipment in China.
