September 2022 has seen an increase of 3.49% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 9.56% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering an increase of 0.39% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 50% in September 2022, a 15.31% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 22.84% in September 2022, marking a 29.71% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 11.27% in September 2022, a 38.27% rise from August 2022.

Top five power companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 41.72% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s power industry during September 2022 over previous month.
Siemens posted 180 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered an increase of 16.88% over the previous month, followed by Umicore with 120 jobs and a 66.67% growth. CEZ with 58 IT jobs and Nordex with 49 jobs, recorded a 544.44% rise and a 2.08% rise, respectively, while Enel recorded a 22.58% increase with 38 job postings during September 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s power industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 21.13% share in September 2022, a 4.48% increase over August 2022. The UK featured next with a 16.2% share, up 15.83% over the previous month. Belgium recorded a 12.98% share, a growth of 55.42% compared with August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.94%, up by 11.03% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.78% share, registered a growth of 22.32% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.27% share, up 20.79% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.01%, recording a month-on-month growth of 150%.
