India’s power industry registered an 11.3% rise in IT hiring activity in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 17.88% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 34.1% share in November 2021, recording a decrease of 1.93% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in India’s power industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 103.64% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s power industry in November 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 71.85% in November 2021, registering a 26.9% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 12.91% share, an increase of 56% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 11.59%, registering a 40% rise from October 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 4.3%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five power companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 45.88% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s power industry during November 2021 over October 2021.

Siemens posted 95 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a drop of 8.65% over the previous month, followed by Landis+Gyr Group with 67 jobs and a flat growth. Schneider Electric with 64 IT jobs and Waste Management with 12 jobs, recorded an 8.47% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Vestas Wind Systems recorded an increase of 42.86% with 10 job postings during November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.32%, up by 9.15% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 43.71% share, registered an increase of 51.72% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.97% share, up 50% over October 2021.
