Portugal’s power industry registered a 23.1% rise in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 20.12% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 20.63% share in September 2022, recording an increase of 1.43% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Portugal’s power industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Portugal’s power industry in September 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 58.14% in September 2022, registering a 31.58% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 18.6% share, an increase of 14.29% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 13.95%, registering a 200% rise from August 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 6.98%, down 25% over the previous month.

Top five power companies in Portugal’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 27.27% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Portugal’s power industry during September 2022 over August 2022.

Siemens posted 20 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 53.85% over the previous month, followed by Vestas Wind Systems with 9 jobs and a 350% growth. Energias de Portugal with 6 IT jobs and Nordex with 4 jobs, recorded a 14.29% decline and a 20% decrease, respectively, while Siemens Energy recorded a decline of 50% with 3 job postings during September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 76.74%, up by 17.86% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16.28% share, registered an increase of 133.33% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.98% share, flat growth over August 2022.
