The UK’s power industry registered a 20.9% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 10.54% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 10.84% share in July 2022, recording an increase of 1.52% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK’s power industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.01% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s power industry in July 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 39.8% in July 2022, registering an 8.11% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 31.34% share, an increase of 50% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 12.94%, registering a 30% rise from June 2022.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 6.97%, flat growth over the previous month.
Top five power companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 19.09% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s power industry during July 2022 over June 2022.
National Grid posted 51 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 42.7% over the previous month, followed by Octopus Energy with 22 jobs and a 450% growth. Iberdrola with 22 IT jobs and SSE with 21 jobs, recorded a 1000% growth and a 61.54% growth, respectively, while Elektro Eletricidade E Servicos recorded an increase of 650% with 15 job postings during July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.65%, up by 38.61% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.91% share, registered a decline of 14.29% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.44% share, up 8.7% over June 2022.
