T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q1 2021 with 152 tenders and a 30.9% share, followed by Power Plant with 129 tenders and a 26.2% share and T&D Project with 126 tenders and a 25.6% share during the quarter.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 25 tenders and a 55.6% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 19 tenders and a 42.2% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 2.2% share.
Thermal is top technology for Asia-Pacific generation equipment tenders in Q1 2021
Looking at generation equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, thermal accounted for 31 tenders with a 68.9% share, followed by solar with ten tenders and a 22.2% share and nuclear with four tenders and an 8.9% share.
