Looking at global power contracts activity divided by the type of technology, wind held the second position in terms of number of contracts during March 2022 with a 30.8% share.

The proportion of contracts by category in the Wind technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 25 contracts and a 40.3% share
  2. Power Purchase Agreement: 19 contracts and a 30.6% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: 11 contracts and a 17.7% share
  4. Project Implementation: five contracts and an 8.1% share
  5. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: two contracts and a 3.2% share.

 

Asia-Pacific leads wind contracts activity in March 2022

 

Comparing contracts activity in wind technology in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 29 contracts and a share of 46.8% during March 2022, followed by Europe with 21 contracts and a 33.9% share and North America with six contracts and a 9.7% share.

In fourth place was Middle East and Africa with four contracts and a 6.5% share and in fifth place was South and Central America with two contracts and a 3.2% share.

The top issuers of contracts in Wind technology for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. ArcelorMittal (Luxembourg): 975MW from one contract
  2. First Quantum Minerals (Canada): 430MW from one contract
  3. ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (India): 250MW capacity from one contract.

  1. Greenko Energies (India): 975MW from one contract
  2. Total Eren (France): 430MW from one contract
