Power industry tenders in Q3 2022: Europe leads global activity
On comparing tenders activity in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 25 tenders and a share of 42.4% during Q3 2022, followed by Middle East and Africa with 22 tenders and a 37.3% share and South and Central America with seven tenders and an 11.9% share.
In fourth place was Asia-Pacific with five tenders and an 8.5% share.

Hydro tops by technology in Q3 2022
Looking at tenders by the type of technology, hydro accounted for the largest proportion with 33 tenders and a 60% share, followed by nuclear with 11 tenders and a 20% share and solar with six tenders and a 10.9% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in global power tenders activity during Q3 2022, with 44 tenders, followed by Others (11) and Generation Equipment (10).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 23 tenders and a 39% share
- Project Implementation: 14 tenders and a 23.7% share
- Others: 11 tenders and an 18.6% share
- Supply & Erection: seven tenders and an 11.9% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: four tenders and a 6.8% share.
Power tenders in Q3 2022: Top companies by capacity
The top issuers of tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved were:
- NTPC (India): 1,150MW from one tender
- Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (United Arab Emirates): 900MW from one tender
- Maharashtra State Power Generation (India): 600MW capacity from one tender.
