Khudoni is a 702MW hydro power project. It is planned on Enguri river/basin in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, Georgia. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2022 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2026.

Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by Trans Electrica.
Khudoni is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 364 million cubic meter. The net head of the project will be 151.9m. The project is expected to generate 1,500 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $1,000m.
Development Status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2022. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2026.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to Government of Georgia under a power purchase agreement at the rate of $0.105kWh.
Contractors Involved
GE Renewable Energy will be the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company is expected to provide 3 units of francis turbines, each with 234MW nameplate capacity.
GE Renewable Energy is expected to supply 3 electric generators for the project.
