Indian independent power producer ACME Solar, via its subsidiary, has commissioned 66.68MW of solar capacity and 300MW-hours (MWh) of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity in Bikaner, Rajasthan, India.
The solar plant, managed by ACME Renewtech, represents phase one of a planned 300MW solar element within the company’s inaugural hybrid renewable project at Kelan Village in Bikaner.

The hybrid project is also expected to include 100MW of wind capacity.
Electricity generated by the project will be sold to Indian energy conglomerate NTPC under a power purchase agreement (PPA), with long-term financing provided by the Power Finance Corporation.
ACME Solar has stated that it expects to complete the full 300MW solar installation by the end of the third quarter (Q3) of the 2026–27 financial year.
This commissioning brings ACME Solar’s total operational renewable energy capacity to approximately 3.05GW.
In a separate development at the same location, ACME Solar’s subsidiary ACME Greentech Seventh has commissioned phase one of the BESS element for its firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project.
This initial phase delivers 53.63MW/300MWh of storage capacity, out of a planned total of 300MW/1.58GW-hours (GWh).
This project is supported by a PPA with SJVN and financing from REC.
The company aims to have the entire BESS capacity operational by Q3 2026.
As a result of this commissioning, ACME Solar’s operational BESS capacity has surpassed 4GWh and currently stands at 4.16GWh.
The company’s contracted portfolio across solar, wind, storage, FDRE and hybrid solutions stands at 8.37GW.
Last month, ACME Solar secured long-term project financing of $164m (Rs15.71bn) from the India Infrastructure Finance Company (IIFCL) to support the development of a 300MW assured peak power project in Rajasthan.
This is the first time IIFCL has acted as the sole lender for a greenfield project with ACME Solar, providing financing with a 19-year repayment term.
