Middle East and Africa T&D project contracts activity down 3% in Q4 2021

There were 34 T&D project contracts announced in the Middle East and Africa region in Q4 2021, marking a drop of 3% over the last four-quarter average of 35, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in Q4 2021 with 45 contracts and a 34.1% share, followed by T&D Project with 34 contracts and a 25.8% share and Electricity Procurement with 16 contracts and a 12.1% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 27 contracts and a 79.4% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: five contracts and a 14.7% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: two contracts and a 5.9% share.

Thermal is top technology for Middle East and Africa T&D project contracts in Q4 2021

Looking at T&D project contracts by the type of technology in the Middle East and Africa region, thermal accounted for two contracts with a 66.7% share, followed by solar with one contract and a 33.3% share.
