North America solar technology contracts in August 2021 saw 37 contracts announced, marking a drop of 3% over the last 12-month average of 38, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Power Purchase Agreement with 19 contracts and a 51.4% share
  2. Project Implementation: seven contracts and an 18.9% share
  3. Supply & Erection: six contracts and a 16.2% share
  4. Electricity Supply: five contracts and a 13.5% share.

The US tops North America solar power contracts activity

The US was the top country in the North America region for solar technology contracts recorded in August 2021 with 37 contracts and a 100% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in North America were:

  1. Salt River Project (United States): 500MW from three contracts
  2. Facebook (United States): 450MW from one contract
  3. AEP Energy (United States): 360MW capacity from one contract.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in North America were:

  1. Salt River Project (United States): 450MW from one contract
  2. Global Energy Generation (United States): 360MW from one contract
  3. NextEra Energy Resources (United States) and EDP Renewables North America (United States): 200MW capacity from one contract.
