The project is currently owned by CSR Sugar Mills.
The project generates 250GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 16,000 households, offsetting 190,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
Pioneer Biomass Power Plant II is a combined heat and power (CHP) project. Bagasse which is a kind of agricultural by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.
