Europe power industry contracts in March 2022: Finland leads activity

 

Looking at contracts by country, Finland led the activity in March 2022 with five contracts and a share of 12.2%, up 5.9% over the previous month and down 17% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Italy with five contracts and a share of 12.2% and Spain with five contracts and a share of 12.2% during the month.

Wind is top technology area for contracts in March 2022

 

Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, wind accounted for the largest proportion with 21 contracts and a 58.3% share, followed by solar with 11 contracts and a 30.6% share and hydro with two contracts and a 5.6% share.

Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, Generation Equipment was the most popular segment in March 2022, with 16 contracts, followed by Power Plant (10) and Electricity Procurement (10).

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 20 contracts and a 48.8% share
  2. Power Purchase Agreement: ten contracts and a 24.4% share
  3. Project Implementation: six contracts and a 14.6% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: three contracts and a 7.3% share

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  3. Statkraft (Norway): 86.8MW capacity from one contract.
