Description
The project is being developed by Endeavor Energy Management, Joule Africa and Seli Hydropower. Government of Sierra Leone, Seli Hydropower and Webuild are currently owning the project.
Bumbuna is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 445 million cubic meter.
Bumbuna (Bumbuna Extension) consists of 2 units of francis turbines with 42MW nameplate capacity.
Bumbuna (Bumbuna phase I) consists of 2 units of francis turbines with 25MW nameplate capacity.
Bumbuna (Yiben) consists of 2 turbines with 27.7MW nameplate capacity.
The Bumbuna (Bumbuna phase I) will have 2 electric generators installed at the Bumbuna (Bumbuna phase I) site. The generator capacity is likely to be 33.7 MVA.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 1990. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2009.

Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority and National Power Authority are expected to be the power offtakers from the project.
