Description
The project is being developed by Duqm Power and Marafiq. Oman Oil Company Exploration & Production and Gulf Energy Development are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51% and 49% respectively.
It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant.
The project cost is expected to be around $483m.
Development status
Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in December 2021.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years.
Contractors involved
Alghanim International General Trading and Contracting, Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios, Sojitz and Tecnicas de Desalinizacion de Aguas are expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the gas fired power project.
Siemens will be the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company is expected to provide 5 units of SGT-800 gas turbines.
