Description
The project was developed by Sinohydro Corporation, Electricite du Laos. Sinohydro and Electricite du Laos are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 85% and 15% respectively.
The gross head of the project is 337m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 1 in number. The penstock length is 2,443m. The penstock diameter is 3.8m. The project generated 507 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $170m.
The hydro power project consists of 2 turbines, each with 60MW nameplate capacity.
Development status
The project construction commenced in 2008 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2012.
