Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by Abu Dhabi Future Energy and Uzbekenergo. The owners have 50% stake in the project respectively.

The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 1,500,000 households, to offset 2,993,709.642t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The Navoiy Wind Farm-Abu Dhabi (Navoiy Wind Farm-Abu Dhabi Phase I), will have 95m high towers.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2021. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2023.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the Navoiy Wind Farm-Abu Dhabi (Navoiy Wind Farm-Abu Dhabi Phase I) will be sold to National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years, starting from 2023.

Contractors involved

SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the Navoiy Wind Farm-Abu Dhabi (Navoiy Wind Farm-Abu Dhabi Phase I).

Navoiy Wind Farm-Abu Dhabi (Navoiy Wind Farm-Abu Dhabi Phase I) will be equipped with Goldwind Science & Technology GW155/4500kW turbines. The phase consists of 111 turbines with 4.5MW nameplate capacity.

Abu Dhabi Future Energy and Goldwind Science & Technology are expected to be contracted for rendering of operations & maintenance services for the project.
