Description

The project is being developed by Nigeria Agip Oil. NNPC, ConocoPhillips and EniPower are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 60%, 20% and 20% respectively.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The fuel will be procured from NAOC Kwale.

Okpai Power Plant (Okpai Power Plant Phase I) consists of 1 steam turbine with 150MW nameplate capacity.

Okpai Power Plant (Okpai Power Plant Phase II Unit I (GT 1)) consists of 1 gas turbine with 150MW nameplate capacity.

Okpai Power Plant (Okpai Power Plant Phase II Unit II (GT 2)) consists of 1 gas turbine with 150MW nameplate capacity.

Okpai Power Plant (Okpai Power Plant Phase II Unit III (ST)) consists of 1 steam turbine with 150MW nameplate capacity.

Development status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in April 2005.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Power Holding Company of Nigeria under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.

Saipem is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the gas fired power project.

Okpai Power Plant (Okpai Power Plant Phase I) will be equipped with GE Power GT13E2 gas turbines. The phase consists of 2 gas turbines with 165MW nameplate capacity.
