Description

The project is currently owned by L H Sugar Factories.

The process of combustion has been adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Bagasse which is a kind of agricultural by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.

Pilibhit Biomass Power Plant (Pilibhit Biomass Power Plant Unit III) consists of 1 turbine with 2.5MW nameplate capacity.

The project got commissioned in December 2005.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Uttar Pradesh Power under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.

Pilibhit Biomass Power Plant (Pilibhit Biomass Power Plant Unit I) is equipped with Triveni Engineering & Industries turbine. The phase consists of 1 turbine with 12MW nameplate capacity.

Pilibhit Biomass Power Plant (Pilibhit Biomass Power Plant Unit II) is equipped with Triveni Engineering & Industries turbine. The phase consists of 1 turbine with 26.75MW nameplate capacity.

Pilibhit Biomass Power Plant (Pilibhit Biomass Power Plant Unit IV) is equipped with Triveni Engineering & Industries turbine. The phase consists of 1 turbine with 3MW nameplate capacity.

The steam boilers for the biopower project have been supplied by Sitson India and Walchandnagar Industries.
