Description

The project is being developed by Summit Meghnaghat II Power. Summit Power International and GE Power are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 80% and 20% respectively.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be regasified liquefied natural gas. In case of shortage of regasified liquefied natural gas the plant will run on High Speed Diesel. The fuel will be procured from Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation.

The project will generate 4,650,000MWh of electricity.

Development status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2024.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Bangladesh Power Development Board under a power purchase agreement. The power will be sold at the rate of $0.025kWh for a period of 22 years.
