Description

The project is developed and owned by Triumph Power Generating. The company has a stake of 100%.

It is a Combined Cycle Internal Combustion Plant (CCICP) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is heavy fuel oil. In case of shortage of heavy fuel oil the plant can also run on Distillate Fuel Oil.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Kenya Power and Lighting under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.

XJ International Engineering and Zhejiang Zhonggao Power Technology were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the oil fired power project.

MAN Energy Solutions is the O&M contractor for thermal power project, commencing from the year 2016.
