Pugalur – Thrissur HVDC Line is a 320kV part oh/ug line with a length of 364km from Pugalur, Tamil Nadu, India, to Thrissur, Kerala, India.

Construction works on the Pugalur – Thrissur HVDC Line started in 2018 and the project was commissioned in 2021.


The Pugalur – Thrissur HVDC Line, which is a part oh/ug line, is being operated by Power Grid Corporation of India. The Pugalur – Thrissur HVDC Line is a new line. The line carries direct current (AC) through double circuit cable.

Approximately $697.1m was financed by the authorities to undertake the construction works of the project.
