South and Central America power industry tenders in Q2 2019: Trinidad and Tobago leads activity
Looking at tenders by country, Trinidad and Tobago led the activity in Q2 2019 with 12 tenders and a share of 35.3%, up 26% over the previous quarter and up 200% when compared with the last four-quarter average.
In second place was Paraguay with five tenders and a share of 14.7% and in third place was Guyana with five tenders and a share of 14.7% during the quarter.
Looking at the last four-quarter average, Argentina held the top spot with ten tenders, followed by Brazil with six and Paraguay with five tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in Q2 2019
Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, Solar accounted for the largest proportion with three tenders and a 33.3% share, followed by Thermal with three tenders and a 33.3% share and Hydro with two tenders and a 22.2% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in South and Central America power tenders activity during Q2 2019, with 14 tenders, followed by T&D Project (7) and Power Plant (7).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Supply & Erection with 19 tenders and a 55.9% share
- Project Implementation with nine tenders and a 26.5% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others with four tenders and an 11.8% share.
