Sungai Penuh Geothermal Power Plant, Indonesia

Sungai Penuh Geothermal Power Plant is a 140MW geothermal power project. It is planned in Jambi, Indonesia. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in multiple phases. Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2022.

Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy.

Sungai Penuh Geothermal Power Plant (Sungai Penuh 1) consists of 1 turbine with 55MW nameplate capacity.

Sungai Penuh Geothermal Power Plant (Sungai Penuh 2) consists of 1 turbine with 55MW nameplate capacity.

Development Status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2022.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to PT PLN (Persero) under a power purchase agreement.

About PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy

PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) is engaged in the exploration, refinement, production and distribution of geothermal energy. PGE is state owned renewable energy company. It is subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), of Indonesia. It is primarily engaged in core activities of steam supply operation, and electric power generation. PGE owns and operates 15 geothermal mining working areas having total capacity of 8,480 MW with current installed capacity of 852 MW. The company operates its geothermal division through joint operating contract arrangement. PGE mainly carries out its business through its subsidiaries, namely, Area Geothermal Kamojang, Area Geothermal Lahendong, and Area Geothermal Sibayak. The company’s wholly owned operations are in states of Kamojang, Lahendong, and Siba Yak. It also operates through joint operation with different companies in Salak, Darajat, Wayang Windu, and Geodpa. The company markets its products through PT PLN Persero. The company is headquartered in Jakarta Indonesia.
