Yonago Biomass Power Plant is a 54.5MW biopower project. It is planned in Tottori, Japan. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in March 2022.

Description

The project is being developed by Yonago Biomass Power Generation. Chubu Electric Power, Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance, Tokyu Land and New Energy Development are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 30%, 30%, 30% and 10% respectively.

The project cost is expected to be around $225.5m.

The process of combustion will be adopted in this project to release the stored energy from the feed. Agricultural by-product and wood by-product will be used as a feedstock to power the project.

Development Status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in March 2022.

Contractors Involved

Toyo Engineering is expected to render EPC services for the biopower project.

Siemens will be the steam turbine supplier for the project.

Andritz is likely to be the supplier of the steam boiler for the project.
