US-based energy financing company Crux has finalised a $215m tax equity investment to support the 240MW utility-scale Pleasant Prairie Solar Energy Center in Franklin County, Ohio.
Developed and owned by Invenergy, the facility is currently under construction and is expected to start commercial operations in 2027.

The financing was arranged through Crux Capital Securities, the registered broker-dealer of Crux.
The investment was made via a Crux-managed vehicle and is designed to monetise the project’s federal investment tax credits, contributing to the rollout of new large-scale solar generation.
The Pleasant Prairie Solar Energy Center will supply electricity to the regional grid and generate clean energy credits for a third-party offtaker.
The project will create around 300 construction jobs during the build phase and involve more than $230m in economic investment in the local area over its lifespan.
Invenergy North America Project Finance head, senior vice-president Matthew Ransweiler said: “Crux’s tax equity investment marks an important milestone for Pleasant Prairie Solar and reflects continued confidence in projects that help meet growing energy demand, while delivering meaningful local benefits.
“Securing tax equity financing for this project with such a strong financial partner demonstrates our commitment to advancing energy infrastructure that supports economic growth, strengthens energy supply and helps power communities across Ohio.”
Since the establishment of Crux, it has facilitated the deployment of billions of dollars of private capital into US clean and critical infrastructure.
The company supports developers, manufacturers and investors through advisory services, transaction execution, underwriting and fund management, using an AI-driven platform integrated with market data and finance expertise.
In July 2026, Linea Energy secured tax equity financing from Crux for the Watertown solar project, a 172MW direct current utility-scale facility in Sanilac County, Michigan.
