DHL Group and Statkraft have signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for renewable electricity from an onshore wind farm in northern Germany that was commissioned in 2025.
Under the ten‑year agreement, which began in February this year, Statkraft will supply around 35GW-hours (GWh) of renewable electricity annually, covering roughly 8% of DHL Group’s current electricity demand in Germany.

The electricity is to be generated by the newly constructed Sollwitt‑Pobüll onshore wind park in Schleswig‑Holstein, which has an installed capacity of 13.2MW.
This agreement marks a step in DHL Group’s decarbonisation process in Germany. As the company’s first long-term onshore wind PPA in the country, it broadens DHL Group’s renewable procurement beyond offshore wind and supports the diversification of its renewable energy supply. By sourcing renewable power directly from a project outside Germany’s EEG subsidy scheme, DHL strengthens the resilience of its energy supply and reduces its environmental footprint.
In addition to hardening DHL’s energy policy, the agreement expands Statkraft’s renewable energy solutions into the logistics sector and strengthens the group’s position as a provider of tailored PPA models and a reliable partner for major industrial customers.
