Aggreko has shut down operations at a 50MW emergency thermal-power plant in Uganda, following reports of a diesel shortage.

Supply disruptions along the Uganda-Kenya import route have been attributed as the reason behind the fuel shortage.

Halting operations has reduced electricity supply to the national grid, according to Umeme Uganda’s power distribution company.

It also led to a 200MW shortfall in the nation’s power capacity during peak hours, reports Dow Jones.
