Panasonic Corporation has unveiled plans to establish a new solar manufacturing unit in Malaysia next month.
The new firm, under the name Panasonic Energy Malaysia, will manufacture solar wafers, cells and modules.

Panasonic will invest JYP45bn ($581m) in the facility, which will have an annual production capacity of 300MW.
The factory is scheduled to begin operations in December 2012.
