Solar energy company SunPower has announced it will provide its fully-integrated SunPower Oasis Power Plant platform to the solarpower plant market globally.
Through a newly-established business unit, the company will supply equipment solutions to solar project developers and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) providers.
SunPower's president and chief executive officer (CEO) Tom Werner said: “The SunPower Oasis platform delivers competitive cost of energy with the proven reliability and quality of SunPower technology in a fully pre-engineered complete solution.
“SunPower's fully-integrated Oasis platform allows local developers and EPC companies new to solarpower to minimise risk to project construction schedules and ensure reliable operation, while delivering competitive cost of energy.”
SunPower Solutions has a wide range of experience in developing, financing, building, operating, and maintaining solarpower plants. In September last year, the company launched its third-generation Oasis Power Plant, which is a complete solution for quick installation and optimisation of sites to maximise value for customers.
The Oasis platform comprises 50% fewer parts than conventional solarpower systems, in addition to an integrated solar tracker design, which streamlines construction and reduces operations and maintenance costs.
Werner said: “Every part of the Oasis platform is engineered to maximise energy yield, delivering a more efficient, reliable solution for long-term energy production.
“The SunPower Oasis platform uses drones and our proprietary software to quickly survey sites and select the optimal layout to achieve project financial and energy goals. Oasis trackers are designed to flexibly accommodate steeper slopes and minimise on-site grading.
“EPC companies appreciate that Oasis is fast and easy to install, and end customers benefit from up to 67% more lifetime energy density from a given site.”
