Leading data and analytics company GlobalData has published its league tables for the top ten financial advisers by value and volume in the power sector for Q1-Q3 2022.

A total of 2,156 merger and acquisition (M&A) deals worth a collective $257bn were announced in the sector during the nine-month period.

Top advisers by value and volume

According to GlobalData’s ‘Global and Power M&A Report Financial Adviser League Tables Q1-Q3 2022’, Lazard and Rothschild & Co emerged as the top M&A financial advisers in the sector for Q1-Q3 2022 by value and volume, respectively.

Lazard advised on $17.7bn worth of deals, while Rothschild & Co advised on a total of 26 deals.

GlobalData lead analyst Aurojyoti Bose said: “Rothschild & Co was the only firm to advise on more than 20 deals.

“Apart from leading by volume, it also managed to advise on some of the big-ticket deals, which helped it to secure the second position by value as well. The company advised on eight deals valued more than $100m.

According to GlobalData’s financial deals database, the other high rankers by value included Goldman Sachs in third place with $14.1bn worth of deals, followed by JP Morgan with $13.3bn and Evercore with $9.6bn.

In terms of volume, JP Morgan secured the third place with 16 deals, followed by Ernst & Young and KPMG with 14 deals each.
