EDF power solutions North America has signed two 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with NV Energy to supply electricity from a new solar and battery storage project in Nevada, US.

The PPAs cover the full output from the Winston Energy Project, which is combined with a 400MW-alternating current solar facility and a 400MW/1.6GW-hours (GWh) battery energy storage system.

The Winston project is due to be constructed on private land in Lyon County, Nevada, and is expected to start delivering electricity to NV Energy customers from October 2029.

More than 400 jobs are set to be created during the peak construction period.

The company estimates the project will generate around $100m in tax revenue for the local community during its operating life.

Once operational, Winston Energy is expected to supply around 1.11TW-hours (TWh) of renewable energy each year, enough to power 100,000 homes in Nevada.

This annual energy generation is also projected to avoid carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to those from more than 187,000 passenger vehicles over a year.

EDF power solutions North America Origination and Power Marketing associate director Jacqueline de Fresart said: “We are delighted by our continued partnership with NV Energy and ability to contribute paired solar and storage solutions which provide efficient, sustainable and reliable energy to its customers.

“We look forward to more opportunities together and to accelerate decarbonisation in North America.”

EDF power solutions is a renewable energy developer with a record of developing 26GW of solar, wind and storage projects over more than 35 years.

The company provides a range of integrated energy solutions including grid-scale power and electric vehicle charging services.

In June 2026, EDF entered into an agreement with private equity firm KKR, granting it the irrevocable right to acquire the company’s operations and assets in the US and Canada.
