Juniper wins SECI LoA for 230MW RTC FDRE renewable project

The project will be located in the Indian state of Rajasthan.

Juniper Green Energy has received a letter of award (LoA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECi) to develop a 230MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE), round-the-clock (RTC) power project.

The project, which will be located in Rajasthan, India, is set to supply power at a tariff of Rs5.26 ($0.05) per unit under a 25-year power purchase agreement with SECI.

The allocation follows an e-Reverse auction, held as part of SECI’s 1GW FDRE RTC Renewable Energy tender.

The tender requires participating renewable energy projects and storage systems to match the reliability levels typically associated with thermal generation.

Juniper stated that the project will leverage its experience in the development of solar, wind and battery storage assets, aiming to deliver continuous and reliable power to the national grid.

The company expects the project to contribute an installed capacity addition of 795MW-peak (MWp) of solar, 75MW of wind and 2.2GW-hours (GWh) of battery energy storage.

Juniper has commissioned around 167MW of wind power capacity across five projects in multiple phases since 1 July 2026.

With these additions, Juniper’s total operational capacity increased from approximately 2.41GW-peak (GWp) to around 2.58GWp.

The new capacity was achieved through the commissioning of 37 wind turbines across Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

This includes 27 turbines rated at 5MW each and ten turbines rated at 3.15MW each.

Juniper develops, constructs and operates large-scale renewable energy assets across India with an operational capacity of around 2.57GWp and 500MW-hours of battery energy storage.

Its total portfolio, including projects under construction, contracted and awarded, exceeds 11GWp and 6.7GWh of storage.

The company has been active in the Indian renewables sector since October 2018.

In July 2025, Juniper announced the full commissioning of its 217MWp solar power project in Chapalgaon, Maharashtra.
