Nordex has received new wind turbine orders totalling 508MW, including a first order for its N175/6.X turbines in Canada.

These orders, placed by undisclosed customers, involve the supply and installation of 73 turbines to be delivered in 2027 and 2028, with each contract accompanied by long-term servicing agreements for the equipment.

They include both N163 turbines and the first deployment of the N175/6.X turbines, marking the entry of this model into the Canadian market.

The turbines are designed for cold climates and will feature Nordex's Advanced Anti-Icing System on the rotor blades to help maintain high availability during harsh Canadian winters by reducing ice-related downtime.

The company did not disclose the names of either the customers or the specific wind farms involved in these projects.

Nordex Group North America CEO Manav Sharma said: “We are thankful for the continued trust of our customers. The orders further strengthen Nordex Group’s market position in Canada.

“Our proven anti-icing technology continues to be a key factor for success in cold climate regions, and now with addition of the N175 to our offered products in Canada, we can help our customers maximise energy production year-round and help further reduce the levelized cost of energy.”

Nordex has installed approximately 57GW of wind power capacity across more than 40 markets since its inception.

Its manufacturing network extends across Brazil, Germany, India, Mexico, Spain and the US. The company's product range focuses on onshore turbines in the 4–7MW classes, developed to meet market demands in countries with limited available land and regions facing grid constraints.

In December 2025, Nordex secured contracts from Alliant Energy to supply wind turbines in Iowa, US, marking a major step forwards for wind energy in the region.
