The Nordex Group has secured an order from renewable energy company OX2 to supply and install 27 turbines for the Fageråsen Wind Farm in Sweden, totalling 189MW of installed capacity.

The agreement covers Nordex N163/6.X turbines to be mounted on 119m tubular steel towers.

Featuring cold-climate modifications, the turbines will be equipped with the company’s advanced anti-icing system.

The contract also includes a full-scope premium service arrangement with a production-based availability warranty for up to 25 years.

Nordex Group Region Nordic vice-president Till Junge said: “This new order provides a great opportunity to further foster the excellent relationship and strong cooperation between Nordex and OX2 in the Nordic region.

“With the N163/6.X and its cold-climate package including the Advanced Anti Icing System, we are delivering yet again our tried, tested and highly efficient solutions tailored to the demanding conditions in Sweden.”

The Fageråsen Wind Farm will be located in Malung-Sälen municipality in the Dalarna region, around 13km south-west of Malung.

Initial component deliveries for the project’s foundation construction are expected to begin in 2026, turbine installation is scheduled for 2027 and full operations are expected in spring 2028.

Fageråsen will comprise 34 turbines producing 700 gigawatt-hours (GWh) annually.

Phase one construction, which includes the 27 turbines, is currently under way, with the company continuing consultations with the County Administrative Board on the final layout for phase two.

The Fageråsen project includes a long-term service contract for cold-climate turbine operation.

Last month, Nordex secured orders for wind turbine projects exceeding 414MW across France, Belgium and Portugal. The agreements span 15 wind projects and include 78 turbines in total.
