SPIE Global Services Energy’s wind power entity, SPIE Wind Connect, has secured a contract from Seaway7 to handle the termination and testing of the 66kV inter-array cables at the Baltyk II and Baltyk III offshore wind farms in Poland.

The projects are situated within the Polish Exclusive Economic Zone in the south-western Baltic Sea.

The main offshore campaign for this work is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026.

Baltyk II and Baltyk III are designed to have a combined installed capacity of approximately 1.44GW, with each site contributing around 720MW.

When operational, they are expected to generate enough renewable electricity to meet the power requirements of more than two million households in Poland.

The layout of each wind farm consists of ten strings of five wind turbine generators, with cables connecting each turbine to offshore substations.

The string structure employs a 400mm² inter-array cable from the outermost turbine, while a 1,000mm² cable carries the total string output to the substation.

SPIE Wind Connect managing director Mike Senior said: “We are proud to have been selected by Seaway7 to support the delivery of the Baltyk II and Baltyk III offshore wind farms.

“This contract reflects the strength of our technical expertise in high-voltage cable termination and testing, and our proven ability to deliver safely and reliably on large-scale offshore wind projects. We look forward to working closely with Seaway7 to help enable the successful energisation of these important projects for Poland’s energy transition.”

SPIE Wind Connect specialises in high-voltage cable termination and testing for offshore wind sector projects.

In June 2025, the Nordic Investment Bank provided Baltyk II and Baltyk III with loans of €64m ($75.36m) and €62m respectively, each with a 26-year term, to support their construction and operation.
