German wind and solar farm developer Umweltgerechte Kraftanlagen (UKA) has placed an order for 64 wind turbines totalling 435MW with Nordex Group.

The deal, which also includes a 20-year turbine maintenance service, is part of an ongoing framework agreement between the companies.

The order comprises the supply of 52 N175/6.X turbines and 12 N163/6.X models, each with a nominal output of 6.8MW.

These turbines will be installed across 21 different wind projects throughout Germany, in areas including Brandenburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Thuringia and Saxony.

Nordex will also supply turbines for the Roldisleben wind farm in Thuringia. Commissioned in 2021, the wind farm is being expanded with two advanced wind turbines.

The Borgentreich wind farm in North Rhine-Westphalia will be provided with eight wind turbines.

Nordex Group CEO José Luis Blanco stated: “These orders represent another important milestone in our strong partnership with UKA.

“We are delighted that UKA has once again chosen our latest N175/6.X turbine for the majority of its projects across Germany. This continued investment not only reflects UKA’s confidence in our turbine technology but also underscores its clear commitment to driving the expansion of renewable energy and supporting a sustainable energy future in Germany.”

All N175/6.X units will be installed on hybrid towers up hub heights of 179m at 15 locations.

The assembly and commissioning phases will be completed between 2026 and 2027 based on individual project timelines.

UKA CEO and shareholder Gernot Gauglitz stated: “This current order for 64 turbines brings the total number of wind turbines ordered by the UKA Group over the past 18 months to 226. Together, they represent a total power generation capacity of more than 1.5 GW. It is an extraordinary achievement that fills me with pride.

“Now that German policymakers have created the framework, I am delighted that we can move the energy transition forward together with Nordex. The close partnership between UKA and Nordex over many years is now bearing fruit – we are now seeing the results of our shared efforts.”

In March 2025, Nordex received a 94MW turbine order for the Nova Scotia wind project in Canada.
