Technology group Wärtsilä has launched GEMS Pulse, a new predictive analytics platform that enhances the performance and reliability of battery energy storage systems. The technology interprets vast streams of operational data to provide clear, actionable insights into system health, efficiency, and availability.

By improving visibility into cell performance and degradation, GEMS Pulse allows energy storage operators to run assets more precisely and reduce downtime. It also helps identify issues early, supporting more efficient grid participation and long-term system stability as renewable generation grows.

The platform draws on data from Wärtsilä’s global battery fleet, integrating scientific analysis and field testing to refine performance models. According to the company, GEMS Pulse will enable smarter use of battery capacity and contribute to maintaining reliability across modern power systems.
