Zelestra and Meta have signed a new power purchase agreement (PPA) for the Skull Creek Solar Plant in Texas, US, expanding their clean energy partnership.

The agreement is part of Meta's commitment to powering its operations with 100% renewable energy.

The project contributes to a total solar capacity of around 1.2 gigawatts-direct current (GWdc) across seven projects in the US under their collaboration, all set to be operational by 2028.

Two of them entered construction late last year and the remainder will be built this year.

At 176MWdc, the Skull Creek Solar Plant underscores Zelestra's growing role in the country’s renewable energy sector, as it continues to develop a 15GW portfolio of clean energy projects.

The company’s solutions are tailored to meet the evolving needs of hyperscalers and corporate clients.

The recent commissioning of the 81MWdc Jasper County Solar Project in Indiana marks the first operational deployment of Zelestra and Meta’s joint initiatives.

Zelestra US CEO Phil North said: “Our clean energy collaboration with Meta is gathering momentum across the US. We are delighted to welcome full operations at Jasper County and start of construction at two further major projects, at the same time as closing another major agreement that will enable the construction of Skull Creek in Texas.

“Thanks to our forward-looking partnership, nearly 1.2GWdc of new clean solar power will soon be operational in the US.”

In November 2025, Zelestra signed a long-term PPA with Microsoft covering solar projects in Spain with a total capacity of 95.7 megawatts-alternating current.

Under the contract, Microsoft agreed to buy the clean energy generated by Zelestra’s Escatrón II and Fuendetodos II solar projects, which are currently under construction in Zaragoza, Aragón.
