Suzlon Group has secured an order for a 225MW wind power project from Everrenew Energy in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

The project will be located in Vengaimandalam in the Trichy district and Ottapidaram in the Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu.

Suzlon will supply 75 S144-140m wind turbines, each with a rated capacity of 3MW.

The turbines are part of Suzlon’s 3-3.15MW product series and will be installed on hybrid lattice tubular towers.

Suzlon will supervise the project from installation to commissioning, and provide comprehensive ongoing operations and maintenance services.

The electricity will be supplied to commercial and industrial customers.

The project will generate enough clean electricity to supply 185,000 households and offset carbon dioxide emissions by 731,000 tonnes annually.

The turbines are equipped with doubly fed induction generator technology, which ensures efficient integration into the utility network and compliance with grid requirements.

Suzlon Group CEO JP Chalasani stated: “Each repeat order is a matter of pride for us. Everrenew has been a cherished customer, and we are grateful that they have reaffirmed their faith in our comprehensive and proven product portfolio, customised for the Indian wind regime.”

Everrenew Energy CEO R. Venkatesh stated: “At Everrenew, we strongly believe in the transformative power of renewable energy. Our unwavering commitment lies in delivering sustainable solutions tailored to our customers’ unique needs.
