Open-frame single-phase control transformers
Typical applications for open-frame single-phase control transformers are motor control, machine tool control, control panels, alarm systems, and distribution boards, among many others. The transformers are supplied as open types with universal frames for vertical or horizontal mounting and either terminal blocks or brass stud connections.
Virtually any combination of voltage and current, at any frequency, can be supplied on both primary and secondary. In addition, multiple primary and secondary windings can be accommodated.
Open-frame three-phase control transformers
Open-frame three-phase control transformers are often used for motor control, machine tool control, control panels, machine voltage conversion, and distribution boards. They are supplied as open types with universal frames for vertical or horizontal mounting and either terminal blocks or brass stud connections.
Virtually any combination of voltage and current, at 50Hz, 60Hz or 400Hz, can be supplied on both primary and secondary. In addition, multiple primary and secondary windings can be accommodated.
Industrial-cased single-phase / three-phase transformers
Our industrial-cased single-phase transformers are normally wall mountable up to 6kVA and floor standing above this rating, but a portable style is also available. Our standard cases are IP33 but we can supply up to IP66 if required.
Our industrial-cased three-phase transformers are normally wall mountable up to 2,250VA and floor standing above this rating. Our standard cases are IP33 but we can supply up to IP66 if required.
Both types are suitably protected by a sheet metal case. All our isolation transformers incorporate an electrostatic screen between the primary and secondary windings and are built in compliance with the latest European standards. Other worldwide standards can also be met.
Open-frame and PCB miniature transformers
The trend to smaller power supplies necessitates compact, low-cost transformers with PCB mounting without sacrificing quality. By using ex stock materials, we are able to offer short delivery times, even on small batches of custom-built transformers.
We can manufacture open-frame and PCB miniature transformers and test in accordance with the requirements of any international specification.
Majestic’s high-frequency transformers and chokes
We offer a full range of high-frequency transformers and chokes utilising the Ferroxcube, Epcos, Thompson or MMG-Neosid ranges of materials. Delivery lead times are dependant on supplier stocks; however, we hold material stocks for regular items.
Majestic’s auto transformers for American equipment
Our auto transformers for American equipment are AUTO-WOUND with a secondary voltage of 110V – 120V and will suit most American domestic appliances.
The transformers are enclosed in portable silver grey cases with standard American socket outlets and UK standard cable and plug input (other European plugs are available to order). All units are fused on the input winding. All units have rubber feet and those rated 500VA and above have a carrying handle for convenience.

Custom-built power supplies can be single-phase or three-phase input, and AC or DC output. The output can be fixed voltage or variable voltage; variable output may be adjustable in fixed steps or be continuously variable. The output(s) can range from a few volts at several thousand amps to several thousand volts at a few milliamps.
