T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in April 2021 with 45 tenders and a 34.1% share, followed by Power Plant with 40 tenders and a 30.3% share and T&D Project with 20 tenders and a 15.2% share during the month.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 30 tenders and a 75% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: five tenders and a 12.5% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four tenders and a 10% share
  4. Supply & Erection: one tender and a 2.5% share.

Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in April 2021

Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 36 tenders with an 81.8% share, followed by wind with four tenders and a 9.1% share and hydro with two tenders and a 4.5% share.

Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in April 2021: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 2,400MW from two tenders
  2. NTPC (India): 1,600MW from two tenders
  3. Gujarat State Electricity (India): 312MW capacity from two tenders.
