The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 42 contracts and a 40.4% share
  2. Power Purchase Agreement: 37 contracts and a 35.6% share
  3. Supply & Erection: 19 contracts and an 18.3% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: four contracts and a 3.8% share
  5. Electricity Supply: two contracts and a 1.9% share.

China tops Asia-Pacific solar power contracts activity

China was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for solar technology contracts recorded in Q2 2021 with 27 contracts and a 26% share, followed by India with 27 contracts and a 26% share and Australia with eight contracts and a 7.7% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. State Power Investment (China): 7,200MW from one contract
  2. Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 1,690MW from three contracts
  3. Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Uzbekistan): 897MW capacity from two contracts.
