Description

The project was developed by International Company for Water and Power Projects and Zhejiang Chint New Energy Development. ACWA Power Renewable Energy Holding, Zhejiang Chint New Energy Development and Al Tawakol Electrical Gila are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 32.81%, 25% and 14% respectively.

Benban ACWA Solar PV Park 1 is a ground-mounted solar project.

The electricitiy generated from the plant has offsetted 60,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $77.5m.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Egyptian Electricity Transmission under a power purchase agreement. The power is sold at the rate of $0.078kWh for a period of 25 years.
