Budhi Gandaki is a 1,200MW hydro power project. It is planned on Gandaki river/basin in Bagmati, Nepal. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2022.

Description

Budhi Gandaki is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 4,467 million cubic meter. The net head of the project will be 185m. The penstock length will be 365m. The penstock diameter will be 5.3m. The project is expected to generate 3,383 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $2,730m.

The hydro power project consists of 6 turbines, each with 200MW nameplate capacity.

The project will have 6 electric generators installed at the project site. The generator capacity is likely to be 235 MVA.
