The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 14 contracts and a 48.3% share
  2. Power Purchase Agreement: eight contracts and a 27.6% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three contracts and a 10.3% share
  4. Supply & Erection: two contracts and a 6.9% share
  5. Consulting & Similar Services: one contract and a 3.4% share
  6. Electricity Supply: one contract and a 3.4% share.

Italy tops Europe solar power contracts activity

Italy was the top country in the Europe region for solar technology contracts recorded in May 2021 with 11 contracts and a 37.9% share, followed by Spain with seven contracts and a 24.1% share and the UK with three contracts and a 10.3% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Arkadikos Ilios I and Arkadikos Ilios II: 50MW from one contract
  2. Gestore dei Servizi Energetici – GSE (Italy): 32.26MW from eight contracts
  3. Solvay (Belgium): 28.77MW capacity from one contract.
