North America power industry contracts in July 2019: The US leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, the US led the activity in July 2019 with 42 contracts and a share of 93.3%, up 0.6% over the previous month and down 5% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Mexico with two contracts and a share of 4.4% and Canada with one contract and a share of 2.2% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, the US held the top spot with 44 contracts, followed by Canada with three and Mexico with two contracts.

Solar is top technology area for contracts in July 2019
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 15 contracts and a 36.6% share, followed by wind with 14 contracts and a 34.1% share and thermal with four contracts and a 9.8% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in North America as tracked by GlobalData, Electricity Procurement was the most popular segment in July 2019, with 15 contracts, followed by Power Plant (15) and Generation Equipment (13).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Power Purchase Agreement: 14 contracts and a 31.1% share
- Supply & Erection: 14 contracts and a 31.1% share
- Project Implementation: ten contracts and a 22.2% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five contracts and an 11.1% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: one contract and a 2.2% share
- Electricity Supply: one contract and a 2.2% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in North America were:
- EDF Renewables North America (United States): 514MW from two contracts
- Clean Power Alliance (United States): 285MW from three contracts
- Public Service Company of New Mexico: 280MW capacity from one contract.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in North America were:
- Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives (United States): 514MW from two contracts
- ProEnergy Services (United States): 280MW from one contract
