Looking at global power tenders activity divided by the type of technology, solar held the second position in terms of number of tenders during April 2021 with a 38% share.

The proportion of tenders by category in the Solar technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 85 tenders and a 78% share
  2. Supply & Erection: eight tenders and a 7.3% share
  3. Power Purchase Agreement: five tenders and a 4.6% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: five tenders and a 4.6% share
  5. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three tenders and a 2.8% share
  6. Electricity Supply: two tenders and a 1.8% share
  7. Others: one tender and a 0.9% share.

Asia-Pacific leads solar tenders activity in April 2021

Comparing tenders activity in solar technology in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 39 tenders and a share of 35.8% during April 2021, followed by Middle East and Africa with 26 tenders and a 23.9% share and Europe with 23 tenders and a 21.1% share.

Solar technology tenders in April 2021: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of tenders in Solar technology for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 2,400MW from two tenders
  2. Korea Energy Agency (South Korea): 2,050MW from one tender
