Looking at global power tenders activity divided by the type of technology, solar held the second position in terms of number of tenders during July 2019 with a 34.5% share.

The proportion of tenders by category in the Solar technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 86 tenders and a 79.6% share
  2. Supply & Erection: eight tenders and a 7.4% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: six tenders and a 5.6% share

Comparing tenders activity in solar technology in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 83 tenders and a share of 76.9% during July 2019, followed by Middle East and Africa with 11 tenders and a 10.2% share and North America with ten tenders and a 9.3% share.

The top issuers of tenders in Solar technology for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. Emirates Water and Electricity (United Arab Emirates): 2,000MW from one tender
  2. Cammesa (Argentina) and Oman Power and Water Procurement (Oman): 1,000MW from one tender
  3. Hawaiian Electric (United States): 900MW capacity from one tender.
